Once upon a time — not in a fairy tale forest, but somewhere between blue skies and a packing mat — there lived a leprechaun with a problem. The rainbow still showed up on time, the clouds still behaved themselves, but the pot of gold? That had quietly walked off in the direction of adult responsibilities.
Reluctantly, and with more than a little sighing, our leprechaun has decided to part with one of his most trusted companions: this Aerodyne Icon I5. Not because it’s tired, worn out, or past its prime — quite the opposite. This rig has been cared for the way only someone who expects magic to save them occasionally would care for their gear.
The harness is a DFBE, fitting a torso around 17–18 inches and a waist in the 30–32 inch range, give or take. It’s the sort of fit that works beautifully for a first rig or for a jumper easing down from a 190 and wanting something predictable, comfortable, and well-behaved. No wrestling match required when you put it on. It just sits where it should, like it always belonged there.
The main has already been given a second lease on life with a fresh line set, and less than half of that line life has been used. The owner advises it opens cleanly, flies honestly, and doesn’t pretend to be something it isn’t — a rare quality, in parachutes and leprechauns alike.
The reserve is a Performance Designs Optimum 176, built in August 2023. Light, modern, and about as reassuring as a four-leaf clover when things go sideways. Backing it up is an AAD that’s fully in date, with the end of life not due until August 2029, meaning you can forget about it entirely — which is exactly how an AAD should be treated.
The container itself is tidy, straight, and unspoiled. No mystery stains, no questionable modifications, no “that’s how it came from the factory, I swear” moments. Everything has been inspected, documented, and set up properly. This rig isn’t being sold because it needs work — it’s being sold because the leprechaun needs a new pot of gold.
