Some rigs arrive looking for their next high-performance pilot. This one is looking for something a little simpler: a newer jumper ready to stop borrowing gear, put on a rig that is finally their own, and join the long tradition of arriving at the DZ with a first-gear carton tucked under one arm. The previous owner has moved on, leaving behind a well-kept system that still has plenty of weekends, sunset loads and questionable firepit stories ahead of it.
Built around an Aerodyne Icon I5 with a low pack Pilot 210 main and Smart LPV 190 reserve, this is the sort of sensible first rig that lets you get into your own equipment without setting fire to the entire budget. The Pilot is a welcoming, well-known all-round canopy, while the Icon gives you a comfortable modern harness/container with the useful features you would expect. The system also includes a Mars m2 AAD, so it is a complete package rather than the beginning of an expensive scavenger hunt.
It is ready for someone new to take over the story: learn its quirks, make it part of the weekend routine, and enjoy that small but memorable moment when you stop saying “the rental rig” and start saying “my rig.” Bring the carton, sit around the firepit with your mates, listen to everyone explain how much better they were as students, then wake up the next morning and go jump your own gear.
