SAFIRE2-139

ESC ID 1471 / AUD $2,000

This is a Safire2-139, born of proper JYRO stock — back when NZ Aerosports were still stamping their DNA into everything that flew honest and hard. It’s one of those canopies that doesn’t shout about performance because it doesn’t need to. It just opens well, flies clean, and reminds you why people keep coming back to the Safire lineage in the first place. Predictable when you want it, playful when you lean on it. There is absolutely fun to be had here — the real kind, not the brochure kind.

This particular example has about 300 jumps on the lines and somewhere in the 600–800 jump range on the fabric, which puts it squarely in that sweet spot: well broken-in, nicely settled, but nowhere near tired. The fabric still has life, the trim still makes sense, and it flies the way a Safire should — smooth, confidence-building, and just cheeky enough to keep things interesting. It’s the canopy you grab when you want to enjoy the skydive, not wrestle it.

And then there’s the colour. Let’s not pretend otherwise — this is manly pink, and it owns it. Loud without being obnoxious. Confident without apology. If you’re the sort of jumper who knows that pink doesn’t make you softer, it just makes you easier to spot while you’re having more fun than everyone else, this one’s already speaking your language.

All of this for $2,000, which is frankly absurd value for this much well-behaved nylon joy. Honest pedigree, honest wear, honest price. If you like your canopies fun, forgiving, and unashamedly pink — this Safire2 is waiting.
